Driver's Licenses to Illegals: Threat to National Security

Californians are getting ready for another debate over illegal Mexican immigration, including the most recent fight over demands that driver's licenses be issued to illegal immigrants. Because of the power of the Mexican lobby in California and the support they get from liberal Democrats, anything can happen now that California's state legislature is back in session.

Illegal immigration and the issuance of driver's licenses to unlawful aliens is a quintessential taxpayer issue. Thus, who take offense at the thought of local taxpayer organizations delving into this issue are either stakeholders in the status-quo, in which case they are part of the problem and it should surprise no one that they're offended, or else they are too naive to understand how their reckless obsession with political correctness has brought the nation in danger, both on security and economic fronts.

The U.S. immigration policy, and the non-enforcement of laws, is a division bell. On one side is the need for public policy to carefully regulate legal immigration and ending illegal immigration as we know it. And on the other side is a cacophonous din that ignores the reality of how open border policy may lead to the destruction of the American nation and way of life.

If the politicians won't protect the country it for fear of offending the anti-American Mexicans and the politically correct left, then ordinary taxpayers should rise to the occasion. Private organizations, including those representing the interests of taxpayers, should stand up to the government and demand that the country's border are secured and everyone obeys the laws.

The recent demands that "law-abiding" illegal immigrants receive driver's licenses or even American citizenship should be rejected because there cannot possibly be law-abiding illegals, and even the name "law-abiding illegal immigrant" is an oxymoron because they are breaking the law by simply residing in the country.

The cost to the local and state government must be studied and understood in order to better determine the preparedness level of our local governmental systems, particularly when it comes to our capability to react and respond to a variety of local emergencies in the face terrorism that may be imported by Islamists through Mexico. It is an established fact that Islamic extremists are busy plotting America's demise by exploiting the broken immigration system to help them accomplish their global mission.

After coming to the United States, many Islamic fundamentalists exploit the system in the manner established by Mexicans. Giving more rights, including driver's licenses to illegal Mexicans, will mean giving the same rights to terrorists plotting mass-murder.

Former Colorado Governor Richard Lamm has been eerily alone in his profound expressions over the "intelligentsia's" unhealthy obsession with what they term "multi-culturalism" - in reality, it is nothing more than an attempt to change the American way of life - and the threat it presents to our security.

"Ivory tower" professors and other politically correct elites stage seminars in colleges around the United States, where the pro-American view-points are totally absent and the country's enemies receive support and understanding.

In the end, refusal to protect the Mexican-American border may lead to the importation of weapons of mass destruction and other acts of mass murder - and even to the end of the Western Civilization. One wonders if that really is the goal of the politically-correct, anti-American demagogues in American universities and far-left, pretend-hippy groups.
