Maulana Abdul Aziz was also among them trying to escape wearing burqa. More than 800 male and female students of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa surrendered themselves to the officials. The surrendered students were shifted to various jails and police stations. Maulana Abdul Aziz, khateeb of Lal Masjid has been arrested while he was making an escape in burqa along with some females. An important meeting, chaired by President Pervez Musharraf, was held to discuss the situation of Lal Masjid. It was decided not to negotiate with the Ghazi Brothers present in Lal Masjid. The meeting was attended by ministers and high officials.
On the other side, more than 800 male and female students of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa surrendered themselves to the officials. The surrendered students we re shifted to various jails and police stations.
The government had earlier announced that no action will be taken against those who surrender themselves to the government whereas the surrendered students will be paid Rs.5,000 per head.
Security has been put on high alert all over the country. Maulana Abdul Aziz, khateeb of Lal Masjid has been arrested while he was making an escape in burqa along with some females.
