Teachings about Jihad (one of the main theme of which is the war for faith), raised in the Middle Ages, regard concern in war as religious duty ("fard") of Moslems, and the death in the name of Allah as the best, straight way to Heaven. The Koran preaches peace among "those come to believe" (meaning the Moslems) and allows for peaceful co-existence with the infidels, but justifies the destruction of those, who fight against the Moslems and their faith. One of the methods of this fight is the suicide bomber, who sacrifices them in the name of Allah, according the doctrines of Jihad. Al-Qaida has been widely using kamikaze tactics for the terrorist actions. This practice based on the idea of martyrdom in the name of Allah, coming out of the doctrine of Jihad. Many intellectuals in Moslem world were appalled when shahids (martyrs dying for Allah) were called "kamikaze" by the West. "Kamikaze sacrifices himself in the name of emperor and stops resistance after his order. Nobody can stop Shahids, who are going to die in the name of Allah because they have no any Master on the Earth, who is order them. Only their faith leads them. There are no mediators between Allah and Shahids … nobody and nothing cannot force men to sacrifice themselves or to stop them from its actions except their faith".
Extremists, including those who attacked the towers of the World Trade Center and Pentagon do not understand why societies call them terrorists and regard such description as senseless. All these people fought with the world evil, with the embodiment of Satan, drawing near a just and authentic peace. They took vengeance on no one and they intimidated no one.
The extremists are absolutely assured that the existing world is incorrectly arranged, but there is an authentic world - created by Allah. They are assured that USA is not only the simple state, but also embodiment of world evil. It is the Satan appearing as sparkling skyscrapers, advertisements, large corporations, world communications and networks, spreading itself over the entire world as an octopus. Being unique esoteric, they see the designation of their life in fight with the evil and thus to accelerate the approaching of authentic world.
Extremists prefer to alter this world as fast as possible to become the chosen race. Fight with the evil and millions of ordinary people, tied by evil, is simply the moment of this titanic work on the reconstruction of reality. Extremists consider themselves to be heroes heroes who accelerate the globe's evolution towards the correct way.
It is possible that extremists who attacked America cannot explain the motives of planned actions. The modern civilization created the persons who are without the feeling responsibility for their actions. Formally they understand the consequences of their actions, but this understanding is blocked by their passion, and by moral relativism where moral arguments are comprehended as conditional.
In the philistine's idea terrorist is lone person. But specialists know that a "walking bomb" is the result of the labor of a large number of people. Everything begins with the recruiter. Then come the informants. Informants find targets for terror and the information required to commit the act. Targets are not selected randomly. There is a plan to any act of terror, where the role of each is clearly painted. The "engineer" then builds a bomb needed for the act. The direct organizer and the sponsor hold in their hands all threads of action. The sponsor requires not a report on the paper, but bloody picture on the television screens for the money he's paying.
To destroy and cripple several dozen people, a sum as small as $150 may be enough. The price of the "martyr's belt" does not exceed 80 dollars. Americans believe that September 11 cost terrorists approximately $500,000. The economic damage of the attack was $135,000,000,000. These numbers exist with which to compare. The most destructive hurricane in the history of USA, Andrew in 1992, resulted in $21 billion worth of damages.
After the events of September 11, the US froze active funds of terrorist organizations worth $34 billion. Of this sum, $27 billion belong to Al-Qaida. After the US, 161 other countries froze some terrorist accounts, but most froze very small amounts. Dr. Aliheydar Rzayev has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Azerbaijan State University. He currently resides in Dubai, UAE.
