Home >> Middle East >> Iran Email Print The execution of two security men is not justified Reza Hossein Borr - 8/4/2008 I have been informed that Al Arabia television has broadcast a video film of Peoples Resistance Movement of Iran, Jondollah, about the execution of two members of the revolutionary guards of Iran. I have been informed that the film shows quite clearly how two members of security guards have been executed. If this is the case, as a journalist and a human rights activist, I strongly express my protest about the execution of these officers and showing of the video of their execution. This act of violence is not justified by any means and is not acceptable by anybody who is campaigning for observation of human rights.
There is no doubt that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a violent country that has executed more innocent people than any other country in proportion to its population. There is no also any doubt that this regime is extending its life by using violence to the extent which can force the people to total submission. There is no doubt that this regime has committed large-scale violations of human rights in Baluchistan. There is no also any doubt that the security forces in Iran and specifically in Baluchistan have raped innocent women, men and have abducted several Baluch women, raped them and then threw their bodies away. There is no doubt that hundreds of young Baluch people and other Iranians have been executed by this regime innocently. Yet, there is no any justification for the execution of security members and showing the film of their execution on television. This is an act of terrorism and I strongly condemn it.
I am aware that several Baluch young men have been hanged by the Islamic Republic of Iran for alleged collaboration with Jondollah. I am also aware that Abdol Hamid Rigi, the brother of Abdul Malik Rigi, the leader of this organization and five other Baluch were given to Iran by the Pakistani authorities. I am confident that these people are now being tortured in the most inhuman way by the Iranian regime but I do not see any justification for any violence by Jondollah or any other group.
According to a recent research, 89 percent of Iranians wanted to leave Iran because of the tough political conditions, dictatorship, lack of opportunities and persecution of students, teachers, workers, journalists, and human rights activists, religious and ethnic groups. Everybody inside and outside Iran has realised that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the most repressive regime in the world but the international community, human rights organizations and the United Nations have made it clear that such acts of violence are not acceptable and justifiable.
The rights of Baluch people, the Sunnis of Iran and the Iranian public cannot be achieved by violence. The Jondollah of Iran must realize that the international community and human rights organizations only can support civil campaigning. As this organization promised to honour the recommendations of Amnesty International and act only in self-defence, the execution of security forces was against their promise. The safety of the rest of the security forces that have been arrested must be guaranteed by the Jondollah if it wants the international community and human rights organisations to support its activities.
Iranian political organizations must not give the Islamic Republic of Iran any excuse for accelerating its policies of violence and execution. Common sense, logic and reason must prevail in Iranian politics. Reza Hossein Borr is a leadership consultant and the creator of 150 CDs and 14 Change management models.
