By erecting these high walls and fences, Iran monopolised drug trafficking

Reza Hossein Borr - 5/22/2009

If the Iranian people and international community believed the propaganda of the Islamic Republic of Iran that the Baluch people were drug traffickers before they cannot believe it anymore when they look at these high concrete walls, deep canals and thick and high metal fences that have been established all along the borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan. There are hundreds of checkpoints at the top of high towers all over the borders. The security guards can detect the movement of every single person along the border. It is impossible for an ordinary person to climb over these high concrete walls, fences or go thru very deep canals without being detected.

The objective of erecting these barriers was to monopolise the smuggling of drugs into Iran and from Iran to the rest of the world. Now the Islamic Republic of Iran is the sole drug trafficker into Iran. The drug is carried by the main drug lords from Afghanistan and Pakistan and delivered to the Iranian security forces at the border. These are the security forces that are able to carry the drugs to the rest of Iran and to the borders of Turkey and into Iraq.

According to the United Nations, three tons of opium is consumed every night in Tehran. Iran has the largest store of opium in the world. It has also the highest number of consumers of opium in the world. It takes ten minutes from any location in Tehran to have access to opium or any other deadly drug. Hadad Aadel, the speaker of the parliament and Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader are both addicted to opium. The main entertainment in Iran is smoking opium.

Yet, the Baluch people are accused of drug trafficking while they live in poverty. According to International Minorities report, 76 percent of Baluch people live under poverty line.

According to World Bank 13 billion dollars will go through cleansing processes in Iran every year.
