Tens of thousands of residents of Tehran gathered in 7 Tir Square at 18:30 (local time) and chanted “death to the dictator”. In a bid to break up the protestors, the regime dispatched its Revolutionary Guards, who are aboard trucks, to various parts of Tehran. There are an immense number of trucks carrying the guards, and the area resembles a war-zone. Members of the paramilitary Bassij continuously attacked the protestors to force them to disperse. Extensive clashes broke out at 20:00 in Mirdamad-Vanak District between people and the suppressive forces, and the Bassij attacked the people there. Students brutally tortured in Interior Ministry basement
The religious fascism ruling in Iran is brutally torturing students arrested in the uprising in the basement of the Interior Ministry building in Tehran.
Among them are students arrested during the midnight raid on Monday on the dormitory of the University of Tehran. They were transferred directly to the basement of the Interior Ministry building where they were subjected to brutal physical and psychological torture and rape.
Farhad Rahbar, an agent who was appointed by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as dean of the Tehran University, visited the students at the ministry the following day and warned them to keep silent about the torture they underwent.
Medical staff at Tehran hospital go on strike
Medical staff at Hezar-Takhtekhabi Hospital in Tehran have gone on strike against the kidnapping of those injured in the nationwide uprising. Agents of the suppressive forces have for the past several days besieged the hospital and kidnapped those injured and transferred them to prison without prior treatment. Following the nationwide uprising and the regime’s barbaric actions toward the people, nothing can justify negotiating with and appeasing this medieval regime. The time has come for the international community to sever ties and impose comprehensive sanctions against the regime immediately.
Ayatollah Khamenei tasks Revolutionary Guards with upholding security in Tehran and cracking down on protestors
The Iranian people’s nationwide uprising - with the suppressive State Security Force (SSF), special anti-riot force, paramilitary Bassij, and plainclothes agents unable to contain the protests by the residents of Tehran - the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei late on Tuesday tasked the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) with upholding security in Tehran. Trucks carrying Revolutionary Guards on Wednesday moved to various parts of Tehran.
The despised and illegitimate regime is trying in vain to step up killings and suppression to cling onto power; however, it is unable to counter the Iranian people’s anger, a fraction of which the world has witnessed in recent days.
